Swedish Massage

Swedish massage can be used for a multitude of things, but is primarily used when trying to help with joint stiffness or stress management. Pressure can vary from light to firm strokes.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage focuses on the muscles closer to the skeletal structure, deeper than the more superficial ones. Deep tissue is primarily used to help with structural and misalignment issues; it is most affective when used along side regular chiropractic work. Deep tissue uses long strokes in tandem with heavy pressure.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy is used to help relieve pain in a referred area. It is often used for chronic hypertension and regular muscle spasms. These points relate to dysfunction in the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) in muscle, and is different from reflexology, acupressure and pressure point massage. Trigger point therapy uses a static concentrated pressure

Prenatal massage is a seperate service, as it has it's own specific strokes to insure safety for both the mother and the baby. It most closely resembles Swedish massage techniques and can help with the various aches and pains that accompany pregnancy. Special bolsters are used so that the client may be face down, side laying, or face up during their session.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is ideal for clients who are highly active, and are seeking to help alleviate pain due to physical activity or are wanting to help improve performance. Sports massage uses techniques similar to deep tissue and incorporates stretching during the session. Depending on the area of focus and the intensity of the stretch needed, clients may wish to wear athletic clothing during session.
